Space K Seoul Art Museum, Architect Cho Min-suk | Magok, Seoul

Space K Seoul Art Museum is located at the intersection connecting Seoul Botanic Park, LG Science Park, and subway Line 5’s Balsan and Magok stations in Magok District. “Space K Seoul” serves not only as a cultural facility but also provides green space and a place for relaxation within the dense urban fabric of the area.

The 75-meter-long curved wall at the center of the green park features an arched form that serves as the entrance to the museum. Ramps and staircases on both sides of the arch lead up to the rooftop garden above the museum. A staircase that passes through the tall arched gateway, along with a gently sloping path descending from the top of the arch, seamlessly connects the rooftop garden with the surrounding green park where Space K is located.

The interior exhibition hall is a flexible space that can accommodate various configurations. Three skylights allow soft natural light to flow in indirectly, creating a pleasant atmosphere for viewing. The ceiling height gradually increases from 3.3 meters to a maximum of 9.2 meters, reflecting the overall form of Space K and allowing for the dynamic display of artworks of different scales.
