A café and restaurant overlooking the Gimpo Ara Marina and the Gyeongin Ara Waterway
La Marina Café & Restaurant is located along the Gyeongin Ara Waterway, overlooking the yacht marina at Gimpo Ara Marina. The five-story building features a café on the first and second floors, while the third and fourth floors operate as a restaurant. To offer panoramic views of the marina and the waterway, the front of both the café and restaurant is finished with large glass windows.
Each floor spans approximately 496 square meters, offering a spacious and open environment. The high ceilings, combined with the expansive front glass windows, create a pleasant sense of openness. Although both the third and fourth floors are designated as restaurant areas, only the third floor was in operation during our weekday visit. One minor drawback is the open kitchen layout, which allows cooking noises to be heard throughout the dining space.
The restaurant's menu offers a variety of dishes, including pasta, steak, and risotto, along with a selection of beverages. Most dishes are priced in the mid-to-late 20,000 KRW range. While the prices are not particularly cheap, the generous portion sizes and excellent flavor make it a satisfying dining experience.
The Truffle Mushroom Cream Risotto features a blend of golden mushrooms, king oyster mushrooms, and button mushrooms. The rich flavor of truffle enhances the risotto, while the golden mushrooms add a delightful texture. The combination of the creamy risotto and the tender mushrooms provides a well-balanced dish. The generous portion size makes it perfect for sharing with a companion.
I visited La Marina Cafe & Restaurant during a weekday lunch, and it was a peaceful and cozy experience. The view of the Gyeongin Ara Waterway and the boats docked at the Ara Marina Yacht Harbor, visible through the large floor-to-ceiling windows, is a unique sight that’s not easily found. The tables are placed right in front of the windows, and the high ceiling creates a spacious feel, making it seem like you’re dining right by the waterway. It was a great time spent with such a wonderful view.
Right in front of the Hyundai Outlet Gimpo, along the Gyeongin Ara Waterway, fireworks are held on Saturday evenings. If you visit at the right time, it’s a great spot to enjoy the fireworks while spending your time there.
