Gimnyeong Beach: A Serene Shoreline Shaped by Nature and Wind
Nestled in the coastal village of Gimnyeong—named after the Chinese character 平 (meaning "flat"), said to resemble its landscape when viewed from the sky—Gimnyeong Beach offers one of Jeju Island’s most striking seascapes.
Formed atop a vast lava bed and blanketed with soft white sand, the beach opens to a cobalt-blue sea that captures the raw beauty of Jeju. On the right side of the beach, towering wind turbines gently spin in the island breeze, adding a modern and almost surreal contrast to the natural surroundings.
For convenience, a free parking lot with space for around 200 vehicles is located directly in front of the beach.
