Gimnyeong Beach, Jeju: A Northern Gem with Cobalt Blue Waters and Pristine White Sands | Jeju, Korea

Gimnyeong Beach: A Serene Shoreline Shaped by Nature and Wind

Nestled in the coastal village of Gimnyeong—named after the Chinese character (meaning "flat"), said to resemble its landscape when viewed from the sky—Gimnyeong Beach offers one of Jeju Island’s most striking seascapes.

Formed atop a vast lava bed and blanketed with soft white sand, the beach opens to a cobalt-blue sea that captures the raw beauty of Jeju. On the right side of the beach, towering wind turbines gently spin in the island breeze, adding a modern and almost surreal contrast to the natural surroundings.

For convenience, a free parking lot with space for around 200 vehicles is located directly in front of the beach.
