BAGELIST — A Sophisticated Bakery Café Led by a 23-Year Artisan Baker
Nestled in the heart of Seoul’s Magok district, BAGELIST is more than just a bakery café — it’s a destination for refined taste. Helmed by a master baker with over 23 years of experience, this stylish spot brings together a team of seasoned professionals to craft unforgettable flavors in a warm, inviting space.
Located at 55 Magokdong-ro, Gangseo-gu, Seoul, BAGELIST occupies a modern ground-floor space in the Marcus Building, blending sleek urban design with the comforting aroma of freshly baked goods.
The café supports on-site waiting from 10:10 AM and remote queuing via the Tableling app starting at 12:00 PM, allowing guests to plan their visit efficiently. Up to one hour of underground parking is also supported for café visitors.
Whether you're stopping in for a morning bite or a leisurely afternoon treat, BAGELIST promises a curated experience of expertly made bagels, coffee, and baked delicacies — all rooted in craftsmanship, quality, and style.
A Sight to Behold
BAGELIST captivates from the moment you see it. Arriving just as the café opened on a crisp Sunday morning in December, the exterior was already buzzing with activity as a photo shoot was underway. Despite the chilly air, the clear blue sky and the gentle morning sunlight casting a warm glow on the BAGELIST sign created a scene so striking that anyone would be compelled to reach for their camera.
Inspired by an 18th-century French apothecary, BAGELIST’s interior is nothing short of enchanting. The bakery display cases, with their unique and antique charm, blend seamlessly with the sunbeams streaming through expansive windows, creating a dreamlike atmosphere. Both the exterior and interior designs resonate harmoniously, fully capturing the French apothecary concept. This cohesive aesthetic ensures that every moment spent here is both satisfying and memorable.
A Diverse Selection of Exquisite Bagels
BAGELIST proudly positions itself as “A Bagel Specialty Shop,” offering an irresistible array of flavors. From classic staples like Plain, Sesame, and Everything, to more adventurous options such as Apple Crumble, Fig, and Half-Chocolate Macadamia, the bakery presents a tempting variety that’s hard to resist.Reluctant to leave Bagelist behind, I took some Everything, Fig, and Plain bagels home, along with a tub of chipotle cream cheese. Even at home, Bagelist’s bagels didn’t disappoint. Pairing them with the chipotle and onion cream cheeses added a delightful twist, making for a truly satisfying treat.
The leftover bagels were stored in the freezer, where they can be kept for up to two weeks. Before enjoying them again, simply thaw naturally or reheat using a microwave or air fryer for the best taste. Detailed instructions are included in the Bagelist packaging.
Bagelist: A Specialty Bagel Bakery Café in Magok District
After some time, I finally discovered a charming and delicious bakery café in the Magok area. Passing by Bagelist on a Saturday evening, I couldn’t help but stop — though all the bagels were already sold out. So, I made sure to return right at their Sunday morning opening time.
The combination of Bagelist’s thoughtfully designed concept, the clear skies and warm sunlight of that Sunday morning, alongside a comforting cup of coffee and freshly baked bagels, made for a truly perfect experience.
