Coppela Café – A Tranquil Pause Within a Masterpiece of Architecture
Located on the second floor of LG Arts Center Seoul in Magok, Gangseo-gu, Coppela Café is a thoughtfully curated space where architecture and atmosphere harmonize. Designed by the legendary Japanese architect Tadao Ando, the building’s exposed concrete and minimalist lines set the tone for a uniquely serene café experience.
Nestled within the raw, poetic geometry of Ando’s signature design, Coppela offers a calm, contemplative environment. The café’s terrace seating—facing the expansive Seoul Botanic Park—invites visitors to slow down and savor both nature and design.
Coppela officially opened its doors in April 2024, taking over the location formerly operated by Café TYPE, which closed in February of the same year. The new concept brings a refined atmosphere that reflects the architectural ethos of the space it inhabits.
